One of the country’s premiere executive search firms serving the public interest community, The Himmelfarb Group was founded by Susan Himmelfarb in 1990.  Ms. Himmelfarb remains principal of the firm.  She directs the firm’s work and handles many of the firm’s assignments personally.  Her understanding of client needs and her belief in the critical importance of finding the optimum fit of person to position, born of extensive management and leadership experience in not-for-profit, academic, public school, and government settings, are among the firm’s particular strengths.

Maggie Bowman, associate, brings her research, organizing, and production skills as well as her varied experience in the arts, as a consultant, and as an organizer, to her work at The Himmelfarb Group.  Ms. Bowman's research skills and outreach ability add to the high quality of the candidate slates The Himmelfarb Group presents. Ms. Bowman holds a B.A. from Carleton College.  In addition to her work for The Himmelfarb Group, Ms. Bowman has an active career as a documentary film maker.
